In light of what you've experienced in creating your portfolio, how might you use portfolios professionally or personally in the future?

There is no doubt that one of the uses for my portfolio will be showcasing my abilities when applying for a new or different job. Another use will be to reflect on what I now know and where I wish to go with this knowledge. It will be shared with some of my colleagues who wish to see it. And, as it was mentioned in class, I will use it to show the furthering of my education for PDP's.

  1. I think using our e-portfolios when applying for a new job is a good idea. And I think administrators and principals would be amazed (hopefully) at the hard work that went into creating it to showcase our hard work. Have you ever thought of using e-portfolios with your students?

  2. Bill...... I couldn't agree more!!! I'm really excited about my portfolio. I knew it would be a great deal of work, but it turned out great. I've been really happy with Stritch throughout the years!!! I'm excited to show off my work!! Haha

  3. Don't you think that this e-portfolio was easier to create than a paper one, since most of our documents were stored in Google Docs? It seemed to me that the artifacts to support our learning were easier to attach than wading through stacks of papers and files for a traditional portfolio. All in all, this was a good experience!

  4. Since I started this program several years ago and am only finishing now, I didn't have the bulk of my artifacts on Google Docs. I wish I did! I'm going through all of my past assignment (from 3-4 years ago!) looking for things that fit for each of my classes. I wish I would've known that I was going to have to make this ePortfolio when I started the program. I would've been more organized in keeping appropriate work from all of my classes!
